Say the Thing from the movie tried to absorb a Resident Evil zombie infected with the T Virus. What would happen at the cellular level when the cells from the Thing battle with the T Virus from the zombie. Which would come out on top?

I'd call it the T-Thing.

Thing cells seem more powerful. Some people like Wesker can still maintain their brain, and some people are seemingly immune or something (most of the heroes). The Thing isn't a curable condition, it eats your cells and copies them, while the T Virus just mutates them.

Wesker used a modified version of the T Virus (might have been the G Virus). And the heroes not being affected while being bitten has more to do with game mechanics. The T Virus can also affect plants when the Thing cells cannot.

Can the Thing even do anything to something non-cellular like a virus? There's nothing else to copy besides the virus's DNA/RNA, and protein shell and/or lipid coating.
