Default Does your local supermarket have a used book bin?

The kind containing donated books. I find some good stuff from time to time for just fifty cents to a dollar.

I wish. A few of our supermarkets sell new books but it's mostly Harry Potter, Twilight and stuff like that.

I go to half priced books a lot and sometimes they have good deals. I got the first 6 trades of JSA for like 40 bucks.

Our supermarkets don't do used good, period.

They do have comics, mostly European ones and the odd translation of Marvel/DC stuff, like Star Wars.

I remember the days when our local store "Giant Eagle" had a spinner rack. I grabbed a Batman Adventures book and a Punisher book. Polar opposite books. I don't remember much of the Punisher book but I remember I was waaaaaay to young to read it. Violent as hell hahaha

For used books I go to the local Libraries. Most sell donated used books for very low prices. Some do it all the time, others have Book Sale days.

    Supermarkets? No, never.

A few years ago I built a grocery store book collection box for our local library. It worked out fairly well.
Lately I've been thinking about building a "little library" to put out by the sidewalk in front of our house. The idea is that I'd stock it with books and people who walk by are able to take whatever they like.

I've never heard of a supermarket selling anything used.

Do you even have the same definition of "supermarket"? They're not actually markets.

Supermarkets sell groceries and sundries. The book bin I'm talking about has donated books and the money collected goes to local charities.

Sounds like you have the same meaning. I've just never heard of that.
