Default Cover Contest 6th to 12th September 2017: Drawings within Drawings

For this week's contest I choose the theme of: Drawings within Drawings... Covers where there is a drawing/painting/other artwork within the 'in-story' world.

    The rules:
-Post One (& ONLY ONE) Cover that fits the theme of this Week's Contest!
-Cover must be from a Published Comic Book or Collected Volume!
-Covers must be Posted before Voting Begins!
-Voting Begins 12 AM Tuesday and Runs Until 12 AM Wednesday PST (3 AM EST)!
-Vote by Posting the name in BOLD of the Poster whose cover best fits the theme or that you simply like the most! A vote need not be in bold, but it does make it easier to Count-The-Votes!
-The Winner of the Contest is the Entry with the MOST Votes after the Voting-Period!
-It's Okay to Discuss the Covers but if you Think Someone's Entry Doesn't Fit the Theme or Violates the Rules, you Don't need to Argue it in the thread, Simply Don't Vote for It!
-Plus: Occasionally Voting will Result in a Tie! The Person Who Started the Thread will do the Counting that Week will Usually call for a TIE-Breaking --Vote from Someone who has Not Yet Voted!
-AFTER the Tie-Breaker Vote, Voting Ends and the Winner is Declared by The One Who Started the Thread (or assigned surrogate) and Thus will do the Counting.

Looking forward to seeing your entries!

My entry... Cave art of course!

    We're all the Doom Patrol!!!

I won't be around next Tues/Weds to participate in the voting or as a contestant. So I will post this non-cover piece of the King drawing himself drawing.

There came a time when the name edhopper died! The final moment came with the fatal release of indescribable power--which tore every post that bore the name edhopper asunder--split it linto a new identity, and filled CBR with the blinding death flash of it's destruction! In the end there was a new user name, spinning slow and barren, clean of all that had gone before, adrift in the fading sounds of binary thunder...THEN----THERE WAS KIRBY101

From 1947: an example of the classic "Comic book that shows them reading the comic book that shows them reading the comic book that..." gimmick. The cover artist was Alex Schomburg.

You'd think that if these guys were any good, they could afford their own individual copies.

When i tried the Marvel way, my Spider-Man's head looked a bit like a lopsided potato. But I still have the book, its one of the treasured possessions from my childhood.

Not technically a comic book, but as they say, let the voters decide.

That said, I have a copy too and love the Big John lessons on drawing a comic book.
