Such a shock to read of Len Wein's passing. RIP, Mr. Wein.

He did some fine, underrated work on GL, such as this issue's "Take This Job and Shove It!" story.

Len Wein's Shaggy Man gave the JLA a run for its money back in the day

Like Matt Hagen, play the part until you reach demise
But I say not today. Now open up your eyes
Use the clay in playful ways. Embrace the face and demonize
Don’t know what to say. Don’t know what to do. Why am I this way? Beaten black and blue?

There are many ways to kill. One can stab a knife in your guts; take away your bread; deprive you of the cure for your illness; put you in a miserable housing; torture you to death with work; take you to war; etc.
Only a few of these are prohibited in our country.

The Wein-Dillin JLA was MY Justice League. This was the story that did it, back in the day.

When I'm not hanging around CBR, I'm writing stuff like this... The Green Ghost and Sherlock Holmes. Find more here. Also the weekly column right here at CBR.

He wrote a story about a robot with an afro. And they published it.

Oh man, DD, this is exactly the contest I was hoping you'd do. Great minds think alike! Len Wein was a big part of what kept me into comic books, and it was this storyline that probably made the biggest impression on me.
