That's a great collection, congrats, briar.
Are those 2x4 Ikea Kallax? They seem to be super sturdy, no bending whatsoever on the top shelf full of them heavy Absolute, Deluxe and Library Editions.

Beauty, but too well organized for my taste.

Extra props for lack of Marvel.

    Beautiful, clean collection!

What do you do when you have more than that (looks like soon)?

    Thanks for sharing

Thanks for all the comments. A clean, somewhat organized, bookshelf is comforting.

Thanks, one is a 4 x 4 Kallax and the other is a 2 x 4. I would say that they're pretty sturdy for particle board, but you don't want kids climbing on it. I've never been concerned with them falling/sagging. They're attached by a clamp (on the back side) so that they line up as clean as possible. The books are pushed back 4 inches. And yes, I used a ruler to make sure they were uniform.

Thanks. I'm constantly trading in books in order to read something else. If I know I'll never read it again it gets traded. Right now I have a Usagi Yojimbo Saga 1 (SC) and Cave Carson (Young Animal) on the chopping block. I used to have 32 Kallax squares and came to the realization that it was a bit much (for me). I still have the other 2x4, but I flipped it on its side and added 6 legs. If it came down to it I could use that one, but limiting shelf space keeps me in check.

Yes it is. I really like the quality of Dark Horse hardcovers. I also kept my trades because they are signed by Sergio Aragones. Not sure I'll ever meet him again so I had to double dip. Usagi Yojimbo, which was created by the letterer of Groo, is the only book I quadruple dip on. Or at least I used to. Now it's down to comic -> small hardcover -> Saga edition hardcover.

Hey I triple dip on Usagi as well! that's also the only series I do that on. Usagi is my all time favorite.

    Cool

This past week I visited the Library Of Congress in the U.S. capital, Washington DC. One of the rooms has the ultimate shelfporn!

It is the entire private collection donated from Thomas Jefferson almost 200 years ago (I think they said 6-7K books, which he had read and marked in). They set it up in a spiral shape with an off-center entrance and I loved it. Made me want to convert my room into this layout someday =). I've seen walls lined with books before -- and circle rooms too -- but never a full arc in the middle of a big square room. It was very cool.

The books are behind glass but you're allowed to read them if you want. I think they said they make you wear gloves. I would do the glass part at home for my graphic novels but probably not the gloves, haha. The lighting was also beautiful, but very dim. Nowhere near enough brightness to read comics even though there'd be a perfect spot in the center for some comfy chairs.

Here's one with people in it for scale

They take really good care of the materials. They mentioned they individually de-acid bathe each page I believe. Wild

Been wanting to do this for a while, finally found the time. (Forgive my kids' toys in the pictures.)
