First week or so done, and my total is 28 books so far.

    Marvel

    - Avengers by Hickman Book 3 OHC (11) - I am loving Hickman's run on both titles, but Avengers is the weaker of the pair. The pacing is a little off and the characters are not given as much of a chance to shine due to the large ensemble, but I am excited to see where the run goes leading up to and into Secret Wars.
    - New Avengers by Hickman Book 2 OHC (11) - Amazing. This book is so engaging with some really fantastic sci-fi concepts, but also superb character introductions. The cliffhanger in this book has me pumped.

    DC

    - Action Comics #993-994 (2) - This is just superhero fun. Doesn't take itself too seriously and has some wacky plots. The reintroduction of a specific side-character is also a blast to read.
    - Doomsday Clock #1-2 (2) - I wasn't sold on issue 1, but #2 definitely kicks things up a notch. As the event progresses, I'm less sold on the need for the event as a whole, but there was a lot of cool stuff in these two issues.
    - Detective Comics #970-971 (2) - This book is really starting to irritate me. I loved the first few arcs, but this current one seems lazy. Tynion doesn't write enough about things that should be seen and developed, but will happily spend half an issue with boring talking heads that serve little-to-no purpose besides regurgitating what we already know. The art is nice.

One of my big goals this year is to read more books from more publishers. Last year I got to 25. I'd like to break 40 this year.

I have amassed a pretty nifty Google Sheet for tracking my reading. I've piloted giving some other folks copies. Is this a thing many folks here would be interested in using?
Here's my first week report... and it's a major one! I'm still working out the kinks in my tracking sheet, but hope to be able to share it with everyone next week.

First time to try something like this.

Hellblazer vol.9 (only the Critical mass part) - 5 issues
    Hellblazer vol.10 - 11 issues
Spiderman Maximum Carnage - 14 issues. A waste of time. Unless you're chasing childhood memories you shouldn't really pay attention to this.
    Hellblazer vol.11 - 13 issues
Hellblazer vol.12 - 8 issues (up to Son of Man). Paul Jenkins run (vols 9-12). Not bad, but not particularly interesting.
The wrong place (Brecht Evens) - 184pgs, so around 8 issues. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for more artistic storytelling. Great art imo.
Panther (Brecht Evens) - 120pgs, so 5 issues i think. Weird book. Love the art.

Need to do better than last year, had too many gaps where I didn't read anything.

So I started this year with a bang:

The walking dead volume 7 - 145-168. This book just keeps hitting the high notes, really well structured really well executed. So much better than the TV show
Tokyo Ghoul Vol 1 - 9 issues. Good art but the story is too angsty for me.
Hellboy in Hell 10 issues. Beautiful art as expected from a Mignola book and the series wrapped up well.
Skal vol 3 - beautiful. Quick read but such a great book.
Marie of the Dragons volume one - 3 issues. Beautiful art but boring execution of an interesting story, probably won't carry on with it.
Blacksad volume one - 2 issues. Beautiful. Good story. Too short an execution of the tale. It would have worked better at 2-3 times the length to really let the story breath. #

    Total:
    50 issues,

    Collections

Shaft - 6 issues. Impressed with the story and the art work, really enjoyable. Will pick up the second volume.
Madman #1 - 2 issues. Odd but very good. Maybe one day I'll read the whole run.
Paper girls vol #1 - 10 issues. Very interesting. Not what I was expecting after I had picked up the first issue. I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes.
Darth Vader omnibus - 31 issues. A lot of fun, great character development and overall story arc. Will pick up the Star Wars main title soon.
Red Hand - Twilight of the Gods - 7 issues. Odd but interesting. Beautiful art and the use of two writers didn't help with the flow. But Overall a good story, not a must buy, but if you see it on sale worth picking up.

    Single Issues
Deadly one issue. Boring but pretty
Dear Irons #1 _ meh but such beautiful art
The vessel of terror #1- 1. Okay story. Good art that's let down by poor colouring. Also the flashback didn't work. Almost seemed shoehorned.
Heroes for hire 2010- #1 okay but nothing special

    "week" 60 issues
    Total 110

I really liked when they were in Tokyo but any time they went back to that over the top 2000AD inspired world with the maniacally cackling cyber villain I was checking out. I know some people love these satirical techno distopias but they just do nothing for me.

As for Blacksad if they do the stories any longer it would take an eternity to be drawn
