There's still a few I need to catch, but right now I'm pretty safe in my favorites list of three: Get Out, Baby Driver, and The Shape of Water.

I'd love for Shape to win best picture, as I'm a Guillermo del Toro devotee - have been since my teens, but I think Get Out was just really the movie of the year, you know? It's already iconic.

Oh, also, even though it's not as good as those other films listed I have to give special consideration for Kong: Skull Island, because it has King Kong fighting monsters and a part of me is still seven years old.

Having finally gotten around to seeing The Shape of Water, that definitely makes it into my top 10. Beautifully crafted love story by GdT.

Kong is a nice throwback to the old school adventure films like the Relic and more.
