    Default SDCC: "iZombie" is the Right Mix of "Veronica Mars" & "Buffy"

    Showrunner Rob Thomas and the cast of The CW's new show embrace their genre ties and hope for a hit with their zombie detective procedural.

    Eh.
    I might watch this eventually (maybe even like it) even though I'm really not happy with how the source material is being treated, but I can't say I'll ever consider this series to be iZombie.

    "iZombie" won't mix with other supernatural elements like Joss Whedon's series did.
    Joss Whedon's series. Or, you know, the actual comicbook this series is based on.

    Interesting. Well, it's a unique premise for a show, for sure. So this zombie plague has a human origin, with the designer drug? You have to track down the distributors, then the creators of the drug. Case solved.

    To all intents and purposes, the only thing this show is based on is the comic's name.

    oh great, we'll start to have more nay sayers coming in to bash the show just cos its on CW tv. Despite the lousy shows it has aired, I think people are starting to forget that with the new leadership coming in, the quality of the acting and script has improved leaps and bounds. Shows like Supernatural, The 100, Nikita, Arrow, Flash and even the originals have all been pretty good tv.

    I'm not huge on Zombie stuff, at all, but I like the sound of this.
    'Do not go gentle into that good night,
    Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
    Rage, rage against the dying of the light'

    I'd be the same as you, really. Other than Supernatural, Scooby-Doo, or Smallville, Shaun Of The Dead is one of the few real exposures I've had to them, and the gore of it all got a bit much for me. Don't watch The Walking Dead, as I'm not sure I'd be interested in the survivalist aspect, or the zombies.

    Still find this interesting, so may well give it a go.

    Yup, Shaun Of The Dead for me. It looks real good though.
