It's an aesthetic choice, not a product of 'laziness', and I think it's fantastic.
Is it too early to hope this book gets an animated adaptation?
Though much is taken, much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are,
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
--Lord Alfred Tennyson--
Every bit of this title I see just makes me more and more excited for it. Can't wait.
"I don't think anyone would get anything out of me using DC Comics characters to rant on about current affairs, even if I had a rant worth giving. To me, the best fiction avoids that kind of stuff. Those arguments are better made in essays and blogs. Fiction should attempt to portray emotions and moments that dig deeper than that, that can't be told, but have to be shown." -Tom King from his Omega Men interview
The art is certainly gorgeous. Let's hope the writing keeps up with it!
