Default "Guardians of The Galaxy 2" -- Who's Your Daddy, Star-Lord?

Peter Quill's parentage might form the central mystery behind the Marvel sequel, and CBR speculates on who might be the man responsible.

I'm hoping Adam Warlock is still in the cocoon that the Collector... er... collected.

Starhawk as Quill's father is the best option, I think. I would also LOVE to see a live action Starhawk.
Why? Just to see the disappointment on your corn-fed, gee-whiz face, Superman. And because a great dark voice on the edge of nothing spoke to me and said you all had to die. There is no 'Why?'

I would rather it be Starhawk from that list but the author is right--it's probably going to be Adam Warlock.

Although I would still prefer it be his actual father, J-Son.

Any reason his comic book father wouldn't be his movie father? A bit too complicated, needs more backstory, characters introduced?

Also, why would Starhawk be the best - and what's their story, in brief?

And why would it be this Adam Warlock fella?

He's not. In the post credits scene, the coccoon was burst open. So Warlock is running around out there somewhere.

i think the most likely character is not on the list. Starfox (real name Eros)

He ties into the Guardians comic run and was an Avenger in the comics.

With his super power (pheremones that drive women crazy) he could easily be an angel and an ahole to the men whos women he takes.

also with him being a Titan and Quills mom a human the dna would be something new.

Well that's awkward. I thought the thread title was a reference to Time of the Season.

I think it will be Starfox personally. That would explain the pelvic sorcery.

Beyond that, Adam Warlock would be my only other bet.

How about the obvious reason? J'Son (stupidest name for an alien king) and the Spartaxians are just really lame.

My major bets would be on an Inhuman or Eternal heritage, from the way that it was phrased it certainly sounded more like the species was the deciding factor rather than the specific father. The Odin idea strikes me as very bad, if you did that you'd probably damage the independence of Guardians as a stand alone franchise, the others are not as damaging but just a bit clunky, especially when Adam Warlock is a strong candidate to appear in the films anyway.

We can probably assume its a comparative mundane of some sort rather than a cosmic entity as Yondu had direct dealings with them.

Now, as it comes to mind, a very interesting option would be someone like the Grandmaster, perhaps concieving Quill as part of a super long plot as some sort, maybe in conjunction with the Collector and possibly some other elders of the universe.
