Had to go with the New Gods/Fourth World, but that's kinda stacking the deck because you're talking about Darkseid, Orion, Mister Miracle, and dozens of other memorable characters. Nearly went with Dr. Doom.

New Gods. Its an entirely realized universe in of itself, so it tends to outweigh a lot of the other options. And its pure Kirby, written and drawn, so you know the vision is pure. I think its his greatest contribution to the medium and will go down in the books as such.

A lot of Kirby's earlier work (his Marvel period) just isn't as good as his later work.
It grips prey with its pincers until the prey is torn in half. What it can't tear, it tosses far.

That would be roughly the middle of his career, after he'd helped define one genre of comics and co-created another.

    Black Panther.

To debut a minority character and have him collectively kick the butts of the Fantastic Four...then turn around and make him a KING from an advanced technological society, with a scarce material--Vibranium. so Bold!

I mean in 50 years...no character has been given so much from inception. Sure we have alternate earth Superman, Alternate earth Spiderman...but to create a character like T'challa from jump--and in essence say to readers here is this new character..this is what he can do...DEAL WITH IT!

Kirby was a one man Affirmative Action Office.

Kirby will always be King to me!

Not on the list, but I would vote for Celestials - not because they are specifically the best as actual characters, just because I kind of view them as the epitomy of distilled Kirby-ness in concept and visual design - and are just really awesome looking things.

I'm probably the only person who left my showing of Guardians of the Galaxy with "Oh my God - they actually cameoed a living Celestial!" (not to mention Knowhere) as one of their highlights of the film.

That is where he started to refine his process of creation; those stories he created was the driving force of Marvel.
