Just was going to make a thread for this.
Man, Marvel is really trying to piss off Moore by publishing Morrison's Miracleman story...

Allred is a strange choice. I love his work, but hmm.

Well, a story written by Moore today would likely be different than a story written by Moore 30 years ago, so what the hell...let Morrison do it.

So Morrison and Quesada have kissed and made up in the aftermath of the New X-Men debacle?

    Interesting news.

Naw, makes sense. The story is going to be a retro 1950s tale.

"Quesada approached Morrison about the story, a tale about Johnny Bates, aka Kid Miracleman. The acclaimed writer agreed to allow Marvel to publish it on the condition that the CCO illustrate it, terms to which Quesada readily agreed."

So Morrison was asked not to publish it in the 80s by Moore and then goes ahead 30 years later and allows the publishing of the story? That's what I am reading right?

I really don't have a problem with Morrison touching the series. I am beginning to have a problem with Moore being so upset with anyone adding anything to things he has created. Morrison has been the Jeter of comics. He's usually Captain Clutch, but every batter strikeouts every once in awhile.

Allan Moore probably doesn't even care that much. His dislike for both Moorison, DC and Marvel are pretty well known. Seems like he just tries to ignore Morrison, Marvel and DC and not want to deal with them. Don't think this changes his opinion that much really. I doubt he will even come with a comment about this (since his last interview he stated that he didn't want to comment on Morrison. However it will most likely fit his idea that Morrison is coping him.

Wow - that's a great start to Marvel's new Miracleman books. I'm still curious to see what they do with the character after Gaiman's run ends, but if this is any indicator, there's likely nothing to be worried about.

My only worry with the annual is what they do about collecting it. The reprints of Moore's run will be done in February, so I could see them slapping this at the end of the last "Original Writer" TPB and eventual OHC, but something about that just doesn't seem right. I'd be surprised if they waited until after Gaiman's run to collect it, though.
