While I agree that Coates shouldn't be writing BP, I strongly disagree that it's bad because Coates brought "politics" into it. Social issues have been part of superhero comics since literally the begining. I also find it a little troubling that the writer is using cliches like "SJW" and "rammed down people's throats"...theses are things that a lot of folks say when they want to keep minorities and women to sidelines in Marvel comics.

His stance is folks don't want to be preached to about social issues in such an obvious manner. McDuffie stated that as well-you don't preach to your audience. Instead they let you learn something on your own in the story.
