    I'm going the opposite direction. The first trailer looked interesting, until they mentioned Penguin Jr, Catwoman Jr, etc.... my first thought was "At least they don't have the Joker in there!"
    ...Expecting the Spanish Inquisition.

    it's supposed to be the young Penguin & young Catwoman.

    And Penguin isn't all that young in this. Late 20s maybe? People like the Burton Batman movie and they gave an origin to Joker, just depends on what they decide to do with it. I like it vague in the comics but this is a world onto itself so it can make decisive choices.

    I think it's interesting to have Gotham be almost evil and creating all these characters.
