The only Arthurian novel I have ever read was The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley. An outstanding book, IMO.

Wow. James Earl Jones. I'd love to have seen that.

I wasn't aware of that film. I'm going to pick up a dvd of the Gary Sinise and John Malkovich film of the book at the library.

Bad Samaritans, Ha Joon Chang - Such a good read. My university texts are usually slogs.

Sinise read the audio version of Of Mice and Men that I listened to, so I sort of got a preview of the movie. I'm going to see if I can find the Burgess Meredith version you mentioned.

Just finished Caleb Carr's THE ANGEL OF DARKNESS, so I'm now ready for the new show, The Alienist.

    Roger Zelazny's Lord of Light.
It's an awesome book. I re-read it every few years and never grow tired of it. Not too long, packed with humor, drama, super powers, Hindu gods, assassins, aliens and epic battles.

During the 1979 Iranian hostage crises the CIA launched a rescue operation posing as a movie crew scouting locations for a film version of this very book. As part of the operation the CIA had commissioned Jack Kirby to produce fake conceptual drawings and set designs. Here's a few of those:

The actual events surrounding the failed rescue mission were the inspiration for the movie Argo released in 2012 starring Ben Affleck.

If you like old B&W movies, you should like it.

I'm going to give the show a try myself. Looks interesting.

I'm on the last 50 pages or Ready Player One, while also still going back to my Complete Conan book when I have downtime at work. The last Conan story I finished was Queen of the Black Coast.

For toilet literature (as in, what I read while sitting on the toilet), I'm currently reading the Thor issue of Archie's Marvel Digest series.
There are many ways to kill. One can stab a knife in your guts; take away your bread; deprive you of the cure for your illness; put you in a miserable housing; torture you to death with work; take you to war; etc.
Only a few of these are prohibited in our country.

I have a collection waiting to be read in the future.

Not to be confused with literature that should be flushed down one instead.
