Yeah it's been years since I last read Matilda, I intend to start reading it to my son when he reaches the age where kids want their parents to read them a bedtime story. I also bought B.F.G as well.

Just finished Walter Mosley's latest: Down the River unto the Sea. Introduces a new P.I. character. Not sure if it will be a series like his Easy Rawlins or Leonid McGill books, but I hope so. And since this book is set in present day NY this character could potentially encounter Leonid.

Aliens Omnibus Volume 1, collecting the novels Earth Hive, Nightmare Asylum, and The Female War. It's a really strange experience reading in novel form stories that I've read for years as graphic novels.

I've never actually read James and the Giant Peach oddly enough, I might buy it for when I start reading to my son at night.

In the middle of the novella-like The Ancestral Footstep (1858) on my Kindle. It's an unfinished story by Nathaniel Hawthorne.

It was actually not a story, finished or unfinished, but more Hawthorne's musings on how to construct the story. Not essential, but very interesting and entertaining, nevertheless.
