Default Looking into a way to read the old comics.

    Hello Forum people!

I just signed up. I'm looking for a way to read all the old comics. Batman #1 and so on. Obviously I can't afford the original but I'm trying to find a way to read all the stories from when the comics were created. I don't care if it's digital, fake, or a reprint. I'm not collecting, Just want to be in the know. I'm looking for an affordable way to read all the old comics just for story purposes.

Does anyone know the best way to do this?

DC did reprint a lot of the golden age tales chronologically in a series of trades called The Batman Chronicles and they seem to be still in print.
There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.

Yes, but I prefer Amazon for stuff that's still in print (or regular comics shops if they have any in stock).

Honestly, to me, the best format for the Golden Agers, is the ARCHIVES.

    http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_no...atman+archives

Batman Archives combined so far has reached up to 1951 of DETECTIVE COMICS.

    Batman: the Dark Knight Archives
so far has reached up to 1946 of BATMAN.

Many, of course, could be found Amazon, or others, in comicbook stores, book stores, or secondhand stores.

But why are you saying you are "not collecting"? Comic books and learning about them themselves are an investment, even a lifestyle.
