it's the hips that look huge

Why do you think that there was a significant sales boost in Renew Your Vows?

Do you think it had to do with Mary Jane Venom?

also some people were prematurely worrying about the series having problems
this is a good series that can last
there is definitely a demand for a married Peter Parker/Spider-Man

heck...there was always a big demand
they made this alternative universe series to try to appease us Spider-marriage fans a little

A thought occurs. Could the upcoming time skip not actually be a time skip, but a vision of the future brought about by Annie's variant Spider-Sense?

The higher sales are probably due to the symbiote, but I'm also hoping that the positive word of mouth Renew Your Vows has been receiving has something to do with them too.

I'm curious if the numbers we see take into account the second printing. Either way, good news for the series.

What do you think of the theory of Renew Your Vows is Marvel trying to prove undoing the marriage in 616 Universe is a good by doing MJ as another Mary Sue and Peter as an emasculated man?
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SY0EG7ldNdM&t=145s

How does that work in an alternative universe though?
    It's not canon in 616.
Mary Jane never had powers nor wanted to be a superhero in 616 Universe.

The marriage lasted for 20 years.
It took a stupid Devil's bargain to undo that marriage.
They didn't dare get them divorced.
They actually killed off Mary Jane, and that didn't even work.

If Marvel think that they can prove undoing the marriage in the Earth-616 was a good thing through writing about their marriage in an alternative universe, they are deluded.

I think viewing the VenoMJ storyline in such a manner proves they have an agenda, not Conway, Stegman, and co.

A little too early to tell. It could be a one off flash-forward instead of a time jump to a new era, or a time travel story, or a Mysterio trick (all assuming that it's not just gimmick cover). I don't think we have enough clues to make any educated guess.

I've seen that reviewer's work before. Suffice to say, I think it's confirmation bias on his part (he believes that Marvel is pushing a pro-SJW agenda and is very interested in politics and worldview and how fiction relates to them). The idea that Marvel would publish a sub-series just to prove that Quesada was right doesn't make much sense, IMHO.

I've liked some of his videos in the past, but I really thought he was reaching with that one.

Yeah, Doug and Diversity and Comics have a similar viewpoint on RYV, saying it's about a divorce, not a marriage, which I don't agree with at all. I think they're just idealists who want virtually no drama in Peter and MJ's union. The only medium where I think that can be consistently allowed is something less mainstream like the daily strip.

I don't remember Diversity & Comics saying that, but Earnst did. I personally thought it was a very good issue.

    I thought so too.
I am enjoying reading the series.
