Default Why isn't Batman making Duke a partner ? Does DC want an African American Robin?

Honestly why is Batman training Duke and not making him a partner ?

    Why isn't he Robin ?

I mean look at Marvel, they have an African American/Purto Ricain Spider-man. So Why can't DC have an African American Robin as Batman's sidekick ?

I mean Does DC want more diversity into their series of comics or not ?

Because Damian is Robin. And it doesn't make much sense at the moment to give Damian an other mantle imo. Especally not if you give it to an older charcter, who will much sooner have take up a adult identity than Damian.

It would also be strange if Robin wasn't the youngest batfamily member.

How is having an African American cast member NOT more diversity, whether you call him "Robin" or something else?

Because he is trying something different.

    Duke already was Robin

Batman had a black robin in futures end and the current robin is part Arabic and part Chinese. Not all minorities are visually ethnic you know.

The bafamily is very diverse. There's Cass, Luke, Damian and Duke.

Seriously do you not read the books?

Or he could be the new Red Robin in a way to "honor" Tim Drake more.

    They did in futures end

They do that's why the batfamily has Cass, Luke, Damian and Duke.

Cass and Steph got the chance to be actual Batgirls and approved by Bruce and Dick.

Duke and Harper never did and they worked with Bruce.

And then what happens when Tim comes back? I'm okay with them taking their time on Duke's codename.

To be honest: I rather have Tim become the new Oracle or reposition himself into a new part in Batman mythos somewhere where no love ones can be attack.

So? what has that got to do with anything. The current Robin is ethinic or do you only count people who are visibly ethnic? Don't Arabic or mixed people need representation too?

Actually I was fine with the idea of the Batman of All Nations.

I was sad to see the ORIGINAL Batwing leave the Superhero life and be replace by the son of one of Batman's supporting characters. It would be nice to see a different Batman for every part of the planet.

Duke is already filling the role as Batman's partner anyway. I don't think making him another robin right now would really help him that much right now. I'd have no problem with him eventually becoming robin, but it really wasn't that long ago that Damien came back to life.

Nice shuffle. You didn't answer my question. Don't Arabic or mixed people not need representation too? Is only those who are visual ethnic that count as diverse in your book?

Besides, how many former Robins have died or appeared to have died?

Maybe it's not a bad idea for Bruce to try something different with Duke?
