    Default Rucka's Dr.Posion

What do you guys think about Rucka's version? Some say it makes her general.
Please sign this so we can at least show DC we want Legend of Wonder Woman part 2.

I like her nasty lil' personality, but -- and I've mentioned this elsewhere -- I'd really like for her to actually do something poisonous soon! I don't care how good of a soldier she is; if she's just a baseline human commando then there's no way she's up to par as one of Diana's rogues.

I think she's supposed to be an advesarumy to Steve and his team more so than a rival of Diana's

Good point, but it begs the question if it's a good use for a rather unique character with a very long history of being something else. Like doing this to Maru is kinda like trying to turn the Scarecrow into David Cain or KGBeast.

And if you just wanted a badass soldier of fortune... why not bring back one of those old nazi characters and use them instead like Baron Blitzkrieg or Paula von Gunter?

Maybe because Diana already has enough things in common with Captain America

It gives her a very specific role, in Diana's rouges gallery, and gives Steve and Etta something to do while Di beats on giant monsters. Besides Poison was always more of a mastermind anyway.

And thats my point. Why use Maru for this bit and change her so much to do it, if you could have used someone else thats perhaps more in need of this kind of update?

Granted, Poison was always more mastermind than direct confrontation... which is another reason this update is odd, because now she is in the thick of it... much like (slim) Waller was such a departure form 'the Wall' of pre-Flashpoint fame.
I could buy Poison's part in all of this if she had remained in the background of her outfit, that way she'd retain the mastermind aspect and still have the military stuff... plus it would allow her to tamper with her soldiers. Like what if at any given moment Poison could push a button and her troops got a shot of something akin to Venom? Her soldiers suddenly become superhuman, easily overwhelming Steve and his crew, but not enough to be more than a kind of smokescreen for her to retreat behind incase Diana shows up.
Similarly, what if her group was the kind of specialists you hire if you want somekind of chemical WMD to go off somewhere? Maru makes the bomb, and her crew delivers it to whereever it needs to go. Maybe they are inoculated against it and linger around to see the effects.

I like her. I do hope we get to see the more "mad scientist" aspect of Maru in the future. She still seems pretty sadistic, and her being able to function as a soldier as well as a scientist would make for a great villain IMO.

I'm digging her team, too. I hope we see more of them down the line.

While I don't know enough about her to say if I love or just like her, she beats the Finch version, that's for sure. I'm hoping there will be some accident with the Maru virus that will leave her mind unhinged and make her more like the Eric Luke version.

What I'm hoping is that GI Jane sustains a pretty bad injury to her upper respiratory tract and receives a nice prosthetic jaw courtesy of Dr.Cyber, then goes get a chemistry degree

I'm most excited for the next issue because I want to learn more about this new Dr. Poison. Similar to Dr. Poison - the poster not the character - I'm hoping something changes Dr. Poison into the more unhinged Eric Luke version. Dr. Poison should be sadistic, merciless and should enjoy seeing people suffer at her hands. With Dr. Poison being featured in Wonder Woman's upcoming movie, this is the perfect time to truly push the character in comics and in media. People are highly curious about Dr. Poison from just the few seconds we've seen of her in the trailers, and I would hate if Rucka took away her most interesting weapon - her intelligence and extensive toxicology knowledge.

Not enough page time yet for me to say yay or nay.
Congrats to Patty Jenkins, Gal Gadot and the DCEU on the success of their Xena movie. 😏
