I think so, yeah. If not September, certainly October. Riri's August solicit mentions the Tony AI turning out to be bad, so I guess she destroys it and then the real Tony gets woken up.

Most probably, yeah. Though I think LEGACY will roll around in October, so that Marvel will be able to make the announcements at SDCC. Question is, will he be the old-school Tony or the recent, RDJ-Lite mockery? Will they let him stand on his own, or will they continue shilling Bendis' OC? Will they retcon all the bull from the Gillen/Bendis runs or not?

Hopefully so, but if not no big deal. I'm saving money not buying Iron man these days.

Maybe not September but most likely by the end of the year since in August Bendis is starting an arc involving the AI Tony going rogue. Once that's wrapped up they'll probably bring back the real Tony unless he's part of bringing down the AI.

Won't matter as long as Bendis still writes the books.

I hope so as long as he isn't a huge dick to his friends.

At this point that's like asking Tony not to build a new suit of Iron Man armor .

Was it just me that really liked the first arc of his Iron Man book?

It seemed the ongoing book most disrupted by him doing Civil War II was his own.

I think most people enjoyed the first arc of his Iron Man run.

It's everything after that where it went off the rails, whether it was because of the event tie-in's or editorial or Bendis himself.

I mean...I know he's normally arrogant and generally unpleasant to be around, but during Time Runs Out and Civil War II, he's been unhinged as hell. He was even implied during CWII to have gone back to drinking. I miss Heroic Age!Tony where he was kind of horrible but not to the point of brutally attacking his friends and bringing up their past mistakes.

I wouldn't even say that's true, given classic/Pre-Civil War Tony generally wasn't that much of a tool to his friends and loved ones unless his alcoholism (Demon in a Bottle) or his suits (Armor Wars) were involved.

But back then The Avengers generally got along and weren't always fighting each other or going off the deep end every other month.

That generally the problem with Bendis, he starts out his books with some good stories, but then ends up devolving into pointless filler that never lives up to the start before ending his run on an unsatisfactory note that makes you realize that nothing really happened. He's pretty much the human personification of broken promises.

Yep, I agree! The first arc was great, wonderful interactions, great art, excellent pacing, good cameos, it was the perfect direction for a Iron Man book. Then I thought The War Machines went on for a bit too long, and a really weird art change, and then of course Civil War II happened.

I'd be interested to see Bendis continue with Tony, though I wonder if he'd end up squeezing Ironheart into it, even when she presumably gets her own book.

I miss the pre-New Avengers Tony Stark(minus The Crossing).
